Effect

Ring Flight (Departure/UMA) is a magic trick where a ring visibly vanishes from the performer's hand and reappears in an impossible location. The effect is clean and direct, making it highly deceptive. The audience sees the ring in the magician's hand one moment, and the next, it has disappeared—only to be found attached to a keychain, inside a locked box, or another unexpected place.

Full Details

Ring Flight comes in two versions: the Departure by Magic Smith and the UMA version. Both achieve the same effect but differ in size and design. The Departure version is slightly bulkier, while the UMA is more compact, making it ideal for everyday carry (EDC). The trick is self-contained, requiring no additional setup, and can be performed impromptu.

The method is straightforward, allowing for smooth execution without complex sleight of hand. The gimmick is durable and designed for repeated use, making it a reliable tool for working magicians.

Who Should Consider the Trick

  • EDC enthusiasts who want a compact, always-ready trick (especially the UMA version).
  • Ring magic specialists seeking a reliable addition to their routines.

Difficulty

Ring Flight is easy to perform, with minimal handling required. The method is self-working, meaning no advanced sleight of hand is needed. However, proper timing and presentation are key to maximizing the effect.

What people are saying about Ring Flight (Departure/UMA)

Mark T from Saturn Magic says...

I've got the UMA ring flight on my car keys just purely because I've already got two remote controls on my normal keys anyway so I don't really need a third one which is the departure so I've got the UMA ring flight on there which is a great Ring similar thing it does basically the same thing but in a much Slimmer compact form for EDC.
